Core Experience of Principals:
My last position as CEO of the Melbourne Italian Chamber
of Commerce was undoubtedly the place where I consolidated all
my strengths. Leadership skills, decision making, communication
skills and creativity were tested on a daily basis. I also
had the opportunity to consolidate other abilities such as delivering
customer focused services, and to develop an understanding
of the Victorian economy.
Most of my strengths have come from notable experiences in my
life. My creativity and capacity to develop successful plans
helped me to complete a Bachelor Degree in Architecture and to
work for almost 10 years as an Architect in Perth. What
I was enjoying the most, however, was the marketing and promotion
side of the business and the ability to identify new business
opportunities. This is what led me to a more challenging
career in that field. Firstly in Perth and then in Europe, I
broadened my knowledge in computers and IT, HR management,
research and programme development.
During my time working with different agency I developed my
communicational skills and my analytical skills, and
that was the reason why I was then posted by the Italian Government
to St Petersburg to open a new observatory desk.
My successful experience in Russia in establishing contacts
with foreign offices and the ability to identify business
opportunities persuaded the Italian Government to call me
back to Rome and assign me to the role of business advisor for
post war countries like the Balkan Region, Afghanistan, Iran
and Iraq. That experience gave me an incredible insight into
the world of diplomacy, especially communication. I had
to learn about completely new cultures in a very short time to
be able to negotiate in difficult countries. I have been
twice to Iraq, in Baghdad and Nasiriyah.
