For over 10 years, I worked in Singapore in various managerial and senior executive positions in the private/public sectors in hospitals and healthcare companies. Was in charge of the operations of 15 allied health and clinical support departments in a 1,400-bed acute general hospital, including chairing a S$150M project to redevelop the national rehabilitation centre and the national communicable disease centre. Did a few months of national crisis management when the hospital was assigned to handle the SARS epidemic. Moved on to the private sector to head a hospital which underwent acquisition, and turned it around from losses to profits. Thereafter, I spent some time as the Acting Group Chief Operating Officer of the largest public-listed commercial nursing home company in Singapore, managing 8 nursing homes, a hospital, ambulance services, home nursing services and rehabilitation therapy services. After migrating to Perth early 2005, I kick-started my career from scratch. Was principal business analyst in the state Department of Health's Health Finance branch for over 1 year, doing cost analysis, evaluating infrastructure business cases and studying clinical costing systems. Before joining IIB, I was last employed in the state Department of Health as the Chief Health Professions Officer, looking after workforce planning and clinical governance for 23 healthcare professional groups. I also speak French, Mandarin, Cantonese and Hokkien/Fujian, and am familiar with cultural issues in South East Asia and China.

Master of Business Administration (Imperial College Management School, UK), Diploma in Health Service Management (Galillee College, Israel), Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Hons) (Uni of Qld, Australia), Graduate Certificate in Orthopaedic Manipulative Therapy (Curtin, Australia). Accredited Associate, Institute for Independent Business.
