Nearly all businesses have a supply chain; most of them view
their logistics as a necessary cost, which is frequently too
high, and something which tends to go wrong at the most inopportune
moment. I offer practical and effective help with logistics and
supply chain problems, from sorting out your existing warehouse,
suppliers or customer interfaces, to setting up a new logistics
operation.
Core Experience:
Thirty years of experience in Logistics, nine of which have been
spent in consultancy, across a wide range of industries and product
groups and in companies large and small. Projects completed include:
Logistics strategy development and implementation; resolving
problems, improving efficiencies and reducing costs in Logistics
operations; health checks and benchmarking of parts or all of
organisations' supply chains; outsourcing logistics operations,
including preparation of ITT, contractor selection, contract
negotiation and implementation; setting up new logistics operations,
including sourcing of premises, building alterations (including
obtaining planning permission and building regulations approval),
equipment selection, staff recruitment, systems selection and
implementation; warehouse re-layouts and re-racking; implementation
of locations systems, form the simple card system to a computerised
warehouse management system (WMS); business and warehouse relocation;
developing a standard operating procedures and key performance
indicators; resolving supply chain and planning issues with suppliers
and customers; assisting companies to implement total quality
and ISO 9000. In addition expertise in systems implementation
has been gained through Programme Management of SAP and JBA implementations
as well as many WMS implementations.

BA (Hons) Business Studies - specialising in Finance, CMILT,
CPC National and International, French and Italian. Accredited
Associate, Institute for Independent Business.
Industry Sectors worked in:
Retail, wholesale, e commerce, mail order, catalogue retailing.
I grasp complex issues fast to devise
practical solutions and make it happen through a hands on approach
which clients appreciate. Have managed diverse projects from
total company re-location to development of a semi-automated
picking system. I love making things "work" where they
were not, and finding elegant and effective solutions to both
old and new problems and I am equally happy at strategic or detailed
level. For fun I race a pre-war racing car.
