improvement, Andy offers experience and expertise to help owners

dominate their markets, and resolve difficult challenges.
Andy is a good business modeller, and has done a number of
valuations and negotiations in the acquisition of small and medium-sized
companies. He has extensive sales management experience and has
designed and implemented several innovative sales and management
compensation schemes effectively. He is technically adept, computer-savvy,
and excels at situation analysis and problem resolution.
Core Experience:
Andy has 37 years of business experience, 12 in Consulting
Engineering, and 25 in senior management roles in R&D, Production,
Marketing and Sales, Field Operations and Service, and as Canadian
VP / General Manager for divisions of global fortune 500 firms.
He has worked with owners of small and medium-sized firms throughout
his career, and has turned around or started up and profitably
grown a number of businesses in that time. Andy is fully bilingual
in English and in French. At the time of this update, Andy is
currently serving his fourth term as President of the Canadian
Fire Alarm Association, a not-for-profit industry group whose
mission is to maximize the use and effectiveness of fire alarm
systems in the protection of lives and property throughout Canada.
Andy, originally trained as an engineer, has worked on mega-projects
in various parts of the world building and commissioning industrial
facilities. However the majority of his career has been in the
leadership and development of medium-sized businesses. In leadership
roles as general manager or country manager, Andy has done extensive
strategic planning, market research and analysis, marketing planning,
long range plan and annual budget development, performance mangement
and improvement, organizational development and increasing shareholder
value. Andy is a problem solver, a people motivator and an implementer.

Accreditations and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from McGill
University in Montreal, and an MBA (with a Marketing concentration)
from the same institution. Accredited Associate, Institute
for Independent Business (AInstIB).
Industry Sectors worked in:
Andy's experience has been in the Building Technologies
and Buildings Services areas, which include Building Automation
and Controls, Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning,Electronic
Life Safety (Fire Alarm) Systems, Electronic security Systems,
Energy Management and Performance Contracting. He has also extensive
background in electrical power, control and instrumentation design
for industrial facilities and processes.
