Core Experience of Principals:
Over 20 years experience as an MDO in a family agency business
importing, stocking and reselling raw materials to the ceramic
and metallurgical sectors. Dealt with suppliers from all over
the world including Taiwan, Thailand, North Africa and most European
countries. Subsequently was responsible for the start-up and
running as General Manager of the Portuguese operations of a
multinational raw materials group involved in both importing
and manufacturing ceramic materials. The purchase of businesses,
restructuring them, as well as starting companies from scratch
and dealing with local bureaucracy were the main tasks successfully
completed. Very experienced in European and cross-border business
and therefore conversant with all multinational tasks, particularly
of a commercial nature. Speak fluently four languages (English,
Portuguese, Spanish, French), and write fluently three of them.

Qualifications:
A Director of the British-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce
for 20 years, Chairman of the Board for 6 years, and currently
Vice-President of this organisation. An Executive Director of
COBCOE (Council of British Chambers of Commerce in Continental
Europe) and an immediate past President. Awarded the OBE this
year in recognition of services to UK business interests and
the British community in Portugal. During 1990s was a Director
of the Associação Comercial Portuense (Commercial
Association of Porto). All these organisations give good networking/lobbying
opportunities.
Industry Sectors worked in:
Long term (25 years) experience in the Ceramic Industry means
an in depth knowledge of all aspects of this area of business
in both commercial and production activities. Excellent local
knowledge of the Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning industry
as a supplier to the building industry. A sound working knowledge
of the Foundry and Steelworks (metallurgical) sector having worked
as a supplier to the industry for over 15 years. As a natural
consequence of being an MDO, have worked and had experience in
many different fields apart from those mentioned, and applied
general management skills to different situations.
